In my work, I explore tense atmospheres and various degrees of perceptual dissonance. I’m interested in sensations of strangeness and unfamiliarity. Painting, with its materiality and idiosyncratic nature, serves as a compelling means of investigating these intuitions.
Frans Nybacka
Crisis Galore, Wings Petite is a world in peril. Manifested by a pair of younglings some centuries ago, it’s slowly slipping away from the hands of it’s captors. The skies, the seas, and the rails are still swarming with herds who squirm in the warm stillness of the sun. Under the ground, a sliver of hope is brewing. Frans Nybackas work focuses on worldbuilding through painting. In this body of work he looks at a morally and environmentally decaying world through the eyes of an innocent child, in which places and objects are personified, casting them in a sympathetic light. The underlying tone of the works includes a magical and sacred experience of nature and suggests an emotional presence in all things.
Finnish Painters` Union pays artists an exhibition fee. A state subsidy has been received from the Finnish Heritage Agency for the payment of the fees.
