“In my paintings, I explore conflicting emotions, experiences of estrangement, and the disturbance hidden in everyday moments. The works in the exhibition depict situations that seem to occur just beside reality. They are fragmentary memories, imaginings, and my attempts to grasp these moments – ones I have felt compelled to return to. My paintings contain juxtapositions: objects meant for play that take on new roles, acts of separation and distancing, burying and unearthing. The paintings are based on real situations or states of mind, memories that have been shaped and tinted over time. These are moments that have lingered and continue to haunt me.”
